Actors Angelina Jolie and Christoph Waltz are reportedly eyeing the lead roles in the Every Note Played, an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Lisa Genova.
Every Note Played is a romance story about Karina (Jolie) and her ex-husband, the accomplished concert pianist Richard (Waltz), in the aftermath of their divorce. Richard is trying to come to terms with the loss of his wife and estrangement of his daughter when he unexpectedly gets the diagnosis of ALS. As he gets more and more trapped in his own body, Katrina reluctantly steps in as his caregiver.
Michael Sucsy is set to direct the film. His previous work includes the successful Netflix show 13 Reasons Why and the film The Vow, starring Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum. He is set to work with producers such as Monet Clayton, Richard Barton Lewis and Gabrielle Jerou-Tabak. The script was adapted by Clayton and David Mandell. STX Films has acquired global rights to the film.

STX chairman Adam Fogelson said in a statement.
One of Genova’s previous novels about middle-aged woman who struggles with dementia, Still Alice, got adapted into a film in 2014. It turned into a huge success, and landed star actress Julianne Moore her first Oscar.
Although both Jolie and Waltz are previous Academy Award-winning actors, they still have a lot at stake with this film. Because of the previous success of Genova’s novels being turned into films, Every Note Played is already expected to be just as great and powerful as the last one.
