King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard are really picking up steam these days, with a set at Glastonbury this year and a 4 track LP released shortly after.
Cellophane is taken from 2014’s I’m In Your Mind Fuzz and it gets straight to the point with an upbeat drum and bass intro, which quickly gives way to the opening riff. With seven band members, there’s always something happening with this song; it’s got layers, and King Gizzard know just how to use that to their advantage. From triple guitar melodies, double drummer rhythms, and blues harp filled chorus, this song has it all for a great introduction to the band. For a more chilled out track from this, ‘Satan Moves Slow’ is recommended, otherwise you should absolutely check out Quarters, released earlier this year.
