Maybe your favourite album of the year has just dropped and you’ve played it to death and want something fresh. Maybe you’ve been that busy with Uni, college, work or school that you’ve lost touch with what’s ‘in’. Well fear not, I’ve got you covered, here’s a selection of tracks you need in your musical life!
Love You Cause You’re There // Hidden Charms
Everywhere you go you’ll hear people complaining that guitar-driven music is dying or that everything sounds the same. Maybe that’s true to a certain degree but then bands like Hidden Charms come along and blow your mind into several different countries. Their latest pulsator ‘Love You Cause You’re There’ is full-bodied blues-rock’n’roll with Black Keys-like intensity and youthful vocal exuberance.
There’s a real pulsating, electric-psych energy beneath the woodwork of this sure to be classic, an energy that refuses to lie down. The Londoners’ offer up a sound so diverse both in essence and time you really can’t let it go. Rhythmically 60s. Vocally fresh. Totally captivating.
