6. Juliette And The Licks – Sticky Honey
Juliette Lewis is known more for her primary career as an actress, but in 2003 she formed the American rock band Juliette and the Licks, subsequently kicking off a successful career as a musician.
The band broke up in 2009, and before the production of the album both the drummer (Jason Morris) and bassist (Paul III) left the band, so Grohl stepped in to contribute as the drummer for the record.
For this record, Grohl exposes a more commercial rock sound, but still retains his hard rock edge and gives the record his signature of hard, pounding drumming style. Which is extremely prevalent in the track ‘Sticky Honey’, especially around the 1:30 mark with the excellent drum fills.
