The winners of the inaugural Neurodiverse Review Awards have been announced. The awards celebrated the often-overlooked autistic, neurodiverse, and disabled-led work at Edinburgh Fringe.

The first Neurodiverse Review Awards were divided into seven categories: Actually Autistic Excellence; ADHD Comedy Award; Neurodiversity Representation; Outstanding Visually Impaired Creative; Birds of Paradise Exceptional Theatre; Birds Of Paradise Emerging Artist awards; and DeafAction.

The winners were announced yesterday at a private ceremony.

A representative from the Neurodiverse Review told the Indiependent: “Neurodiverse Review has only been in existence for about a month, and in that time, we’ve managed to connect with hundreds of autistic, neurodiverse and disabled acts.”

“It’s been a privilege to give a platform to creatives who have been marginalised by our industry and society. The awards were to highlight our communities work further, and we hope whether people won or were nominated it shows the talent and brilliance of our work. We will be back next year, bigger and better, with a live chat show, more awards and different, innovative ways to give our communities even more of a voice”
