Wilton’s Music Hall has announced that The Wind in the Willows Wilton’s, a modern adaptation of Kenneth Grahame’s iconic children’s novel The Wind in the Willows will be coming to the stage this Christmas season.
Written by Piers Torday, The Wind in the Willows Wilton’s breathes new life into Grahame’s characters as they adventure through London, beginning in spring in Hyde Park and concluding at Mole’s home at Christmas, on the way fighting against the money-grabbing weasels.
The production stars Darrell Brockis as Toad, Melody Brown as Badger, Tom Chapman as Weasel, Paula James as Duck, Corey Montague-Sholay as Mole, Chris Nayak as Otter, and Rosie Wyatt as Rat.
The Wind in the Willows Wilton’s creative team features Elisabeth Freestone (director), Tom Piper (designer), Piers Torday and Chris Warner (music), Zoe Spurr (lighting), Emma Brunton (movement), and Samuel Wyer (puppetry)
Torday said of the adaptation: “Wilton’s with its extraordinary history and unique atmospheric backdrop is the most perfect venue to conjure the charm, joy and beauty to bring one of my most favourite books ever, alive on stage.”
The Wind in the Willows Wilton’s will run from 24 November to 31 December 2022 at Wilton’s Music Hall in Shadwell, London.
