‘Xo Xo, DeuxMoi’
Started as a fashion blog in the late 2010s by none other than iconic socialite Nan Kempner’s granddaughter Meggie, DeuxMoi’s evolution from an innocent clothing discussion developed into a celebrity gossip safe haven is a notable one.
Despite the shallow nature of its content, DeuxMoi has inadvertently become the hub of all internet-sleuthing. Unlike outlets such as People & E! News, Deux Moi relies solely on the contributions of you, the viewer.
Gone are claims from mysterious ‘sources’ that don the pages of Hello Magazine.
Instead, DeuxMoi fill their Instagram Stories with anonymous texts from ‘real’ people whose mundane sightings prove to be equally as addictive as they are potentially unreliable.
Many people would go as far as to call DeuxMoi spineless; a weak attempt at a virtual gossip column that can’t verify its sources. But for what purpose would an anonymous individual have for lying that they spotted Jennifer Coolidge at Tower Bar in West Hollywood?
The scoops, which are almost all anonymous and sent in via text message hotline, provide no compensation, social nor financial, for those who submit.
The same cannot be said for those providing information to the aforementioned big name publications. It is this reason alone that if you’re one to invest your time into gossip as a medium, DeuxMoi is likely your safest bet. In need of more convincing? Well look no further than the case of Armie Hammer.
Revealed via Vanity Fair in 2021, DeuxMoi was in fact the catalyst for the downfall of the Call Me By Your Name actor.
It was in the early days of the pandemic that scandalous information began to be drip fed to the account via DM and text.
While these claims seemed too wild and complex to verify at first, it wasn’t long before they were proven true.
With celebrity gossip being churned out from all corners, it may seem impossible to know who to believe, if anyone. But with the rise of DeuxMoi and their constant flow of reward free information, we may very well have come as close to the truth as gossip would allow.
