Following their upcoming West End run, Vardy v Rooney: The Wagatha Christie Trial is set to embark on a UK tour this year.

Directed by Lisa Spirling, this verbatim play will be performed at London’s Ambassadors Theatre from 6 April 2023 through to 20 May 2023 before touring to Woking, Liverpool, Southend, Salford and Brighton.

Audiences will experience a recreation of the infamous libel case brought by Rebekah Vardy against Coleen Rooney which was subsequently dubbed the “Wagatha Christie trial”. From sensational headlines to social media sleuthing, this production captures the heated dispute between the two wives, exploring the blurred lines between “privacy and celebrity in modern Britain.” The intrigue and intricacies of the case will unfold live on stage as audiences will see how this extraordinary week in court played out.

Lucy May Barker and Laura Dos Santos will be reprising their roles as Rebekah Vardy and Coleen Rooney respectively. Joining them on stage will be Jonathan Broadbent as Hugh Tomlinson QC, Tom Turner as David Sherborne and Nathan McMullen who will be playing multiple roles including Wayne Rooney and Jamie Vardy. Further casting is yet to be announced.

Vardy v Rooney: The Wagatha Christie Trial is adapted by Liv Hennessy and features design by Polly Sullivan, and composition and sound by Richard Hammarton.

Tickets for the tour will be available to purchase on the play’s website.
