Linus Karp has announced a UK tour for his new multimedia solo comedy entitled Diana: The Untold and Untrue Story.

The show will make its debut at The Pleasance Theatre, London on 8 November before touring to venues across the UK until April 2023.

Awkward Productions theatre company will be bringing the show to life, blending drag, multimedia, audience interaction and puppetry in its “unique celebration” of the people’s princess.

Told from the point of view of Diana in heaven, the show captures the extraordinary moments of her cruelly short life. From her ground-breaking stances on social and queer issues to breaking free from the monarchy, her untold truths and “(un)truths” will be explored in what has been described as a “fun, stupid, queer” and “surprising” event.

Karp gave a warm tribute to Diana while discussing the upcoming production: “Even 25 years after her death Diana is a cultural icon, an era defining star and a social media meme Queen. Her legacy outlives her amazing achievements and even the truth, as she’s become as much myth as celebrity. Toying with multiple performance forms as well as the truth itself, we have created a ridiculous celebration of her—as unique as Diana herself.”

He will star as Diana and while he is the only actor on stage, other actors will appear in the form of multimedia videos and voice overs, including Geri Allen as the Queen, Joseph Martin as Prince Charles and Zina Badran as God.
