Two Door Cinema Club are back with their new single ‘Wonderful Life’ and have announced their fifth studio album Keep On Smiling, which is set to be released in September.

Two Door Cinema Club is an indie rock-pop band from Northern Ireland, who are best known for songs like ‘Undercover Martyn’ and ‘Bad Decisions’. While the group has been busy headlining festivals, it has been a few years since they released new music. The band’s last album ‘False Alarm’ was released back in 2019 so this surprise release of ‘Wonderful Life’ will undoubtedly be welcomed by fans.

The trio is best known for their debut album Tourist History and this first taste we have had of the upcoming album Keep On Smiling has a distinctly similar sound. ‘Wonderful Life’ is energetic and filled with reminders that life is short but beautiful.

The single has vibrant cover art that matches its energising lyrics and that classic Two Door Cinema Club frantic yet smooth, synthesised soundtrack. It encourages listeners to release all of life’s petty stresses and focus on the beauty instead, with lyrics like “If you’re holding your breath it’s no wonder it’s yet to find you”.The song sounds so effortlessly cheerful that it just makes you want to dance along. After what has been a difficult and lonely couple of years for many, the lyrics “Take back your wonderful life” will resonate with many. Two Door Cinema Club is returning and so are our wonderful lives.

The band has a relatively small media presence compared to other artists of their success level, with their music being far more well-known than the band themselves. They have been dropping smiley hints on their Instagram over the last few weeks before officially announcing new music and plenty of new tour dates in Europe and North America.

With an excitingly reminiscent sound, Two Door Cinema Club is returning with what looks to be a fantastic new album, alongside this new anthem for the summer.

Keep On Smiling will be released on 2 September 2022.
