The Twitch Streamer and Content Creator, Puppers has passed away at the age of 32, following complications with ALS.
Puppers, whose real name was Max, was predominantly recognised for his Dead by Daylight content and known for a consistently positive attitude during his streams.
Despite being diagnosed with ALS (a form of Motor Neurone Disease) in 2020, Puppers continued to stream to a caring fanbase who continued to rally around him until the end.
The Dead by Daylight community rallied around him, and together with his close friends, established the Light in the Fog Foundation. This foundation, and the streaming events that took place in 2021 and 2022, raised over $250k toward his care, including medications, medical equipment, sleep aids, wheelchairs and accessibility improvements to his home.
The streams also and featured over 150 Dead by Daylight content creators in helping to raise awareness of ALS and its impact.
Puppers impact on the Dead by Daylight scene also didn’t go unnoticed by Behaviour Interactive, the game’s developer.
To celebrate Puppers and the success of the Light in the Fog events, Behaviour added the Warrior Puppers charm into the game. This charm can be used by players to decorate their Survivor characters or their Killer hooks with a sword-wielding version of Puppers’ logo (which can still be obtained in the game using the code WARRIORPUPPERS).
In a public statement on their Twitter account, the Dead by Daylight developers said that “Puppers was, and always will be, one of the brightest lights in The Fog. Everyone that light touched is forever changed by having known him.”
This was a sentiment echoed by a large outpouring of social media tributes, most of whom referenced Puppers’ signature sign-off to “rest easy” and “stay comfy.”
