Troy Baker is confirmed as set to return to Naughty Dog with the next game led by ‘The Last of Us’ creator Neil Druckmann. However, it is still top secret what this project is. Baker is a prolific voice actor notably known for his roles as Joel Miller in The Last of Us franchise, Yuri Lowell in Tales of Vesperia, and also in the Uncharted series as Sam Drake.
The news was revealed in a profile of Baker in GQ, with Druckmann also confirming the news by saying “In a heartbeat I would always work with Troy”
Back in June, the studio announced they had ‘multiple single-player projects in the works’ and each project would be as story-rich as past projects, honouring the target audience that has come to expect this quality of storytelling from the studio.
Naughty Dog has not yet announced what their next game project will be – but they are eager to branch out away from notable works like Uncharted and The Last of Us. Previous speculation includes rumours about a fantasy-themed release to rival games of this genre from other studios.
As for Baker, he is so widely known that he will capture interest for an original project for existing and new fans. His next role will be as the title character in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, which is set for release on Windows and Xbox Series X/S on December 9th.
