Track Review: Where You At // The Bohicas

A kind of neo-conglomerate of rock ‘n’ roll, garage and Chuck Berry, The Bohicas are laser-guided in their approach while maintaining the authenticity of their influences. With only one EP and a couple of singles to their name, the band are very much the new kids on the block, though without the implied immaturity. The four-piece from Essex signed to Domino Records in late 2013, and since then their exuberant live shows have given them the reputation and platform that will surely launch them to great things.

‘Where You At’ falls nothing short of the enthusing standards of other recent tracks such as ‘To Die For’ and ‘XXX’ – juxtaposing a dynamic, addictive riff with the stylish tones of lead vocalist Dom McGuinness. “Come cruising round the bend”, ‘Where You At’ simultaneously captures lazy, arrogant precision with the euphoric chaos of a high-speed car chase. With a debut album set to be released later this year and a UK tour beginning later this month, The Bohicas are ready to tear up the British rock scene and they’re taking no prisoners.
