Tenterhook’s most recent song ‘What I Like’ has already been very successful, reaching No 1 on the Hype Machine main chart. With a smooth and dreamy opening, adding the drum beat cleverly takes the song from an acoustic feeling track to a much more upbeat one. It then seamlessly changes rhythm to the dancing pulse of the chorus.

Archie Faulks’ vocals are catchy and distinctive with well written lyrics. The song ends with deep bass tones and altogether feels like a fully rounded piece of music displaying lots of talent. ‘What I Like’ was produced by Charlie Andrew who has worked with Alt-J and Marika Hackman, and the track shares some positive aspects with these two artists’ work, yet remains highly individual. The end product is wonderfully peaceful as well as being breezy and melodic.

‘What I Like’ is out on June 8th on Cartoon Records.
