Sam Meaghan released his new track ‘Want’ earlier this month, representing a departure from his previous acoustic-driven Handle With Care EP. He has built a reputation through his emotional intimate live shows, one of which was at Close Up Festival in Winchester. It will be interesting to see whether Meaghan has expanded his musical palette since the release of the EP earlier this year.

It is obvious on listening to ‘Want’ that it is more atmospheric with the reverb dominating both the acoustic guitars and the vocals. It is beautiful because coupled with Meaghan’s soft voice, the harmonies  bring out the emotional intensity of a break up. This is positive because it brings out a fuller sound, making for a fresh and exciting track. A perfect example of his songwriting talents, the track shows that Sam Meaghan is one to watch in the future.
