Manchester based four piece, Korsairs, have released their catchy new track ‘Troubled Town’. Brothers Joe and Alfie Prior, and sisters Ellie and Abbie Bescoby commendably portray a raw, guitar-based sound similar to that of Mumford and Sons, or Jake Bugg’s earlier releases. Using only original material ‘Troubled Town’ is the result of their own expressive song writing, group jamming sessions and undeniable talent. This indie pop track begins with a folky riff, before a simple 4/4 drum beat backing and Joe’s accented vocals kick in.
Troubled Town’s lyrics imply a strong desire to travel, leaving their ‘Troubled Town’ behind – a yearning also shared by many individuals young and old. This upbeat and earthy tune is impressive to say the least, and is only the start of great music from Korsairs.
Look out, Manchester.
