Track Review: To Be Around You // Breakage

Born in Slough, Breakage is an artist who was introduced to music at a young age and – after moving to the heart of London in his teens – became “enamoured with the city’s jungle scene”. This fascination with the urban atmosphere is evident in the undeniable understanding of drum and bass appearing in his work.

Taken from his forthcoming album, When The Night Comes, ‘To Be Around You’ displays Breakage’s effortless knowledge of his genre; as the track progresses, numerous synth/electro layers are added and create a dance style similar to that of Magnetic Man. When played loudly, I imagine the deep bass of this song echoing around the night in bars and clubs while people absorb the catchy lyrics.

When The Night Comes will be released on 24th May. You can follow Breakage on Twitter or like him via Facebook for updates on the artist’s latest work.
