Track Review: Think Sharp Kid // Furr

Furr, an alternative rock quartet from Leeds, have just released the video for their debut single ‘Think Sharp Kid’, and with its raw, angst-ridden riffs and riotously catchy chorus, it’s one that pretty much already establishes them as a band to start getting excited about.

The video sees all four members (Jack Byrne on vocals and guitar; Sam Jackson on guitar; Guy Read on bass; and John Roberts on drums) performing the track in amongst a sea of neon hanging lights, which, when you consider their grungey overtone, is a pretty cool way of keeping them from seeming like just another throwback band. As for the track itself: think Queens of the Stone Age mixed with a bit of Weezer. It’s heavy and full of pulsing energy, but thanks to some contagious hooks and Byrne’s playful vocals (which switch effortlessly between flippant yells and almost angelic falsettos), it’s also a lot of fun.

For more information on Furr you can follow them on Twitter, Facebook and Soundcloud.
