Track Review: Sunrise // Pleasure House

Up and coming Birmingham band Pleasure House have brought you this year’s summer anthem in form of their second single.

Describing their sound as “deliciously dirty indie dance-pop” gives a good and accurate idea of what to expect from their music: ‘Sunrise’ is a bouncy, feel good and fast paced tune that radiates positivity and summer joy. The song is carried by a rhythmic drumbeat, which combined with a Foals-like funky and tropical guitar riff makes it difficult to stand still when listening to this track.

The catchy chorus is the epitome of the song and has you singing along instantly with the simple yet sweet lyrics: “I close my eyes / and all I see is sunrise / and waking up next to you” followed by a paradise of ‘ooohh’s’ that provide a sense of pure happiness, which is what this single is all about.
