London born-and-bred Freddie Dickson (along with his band The Guard) are quietly but surely making their way up the musical ranks. With the Communion Music New Faces UK tour, Barn on The Farm Festival, Live at Leeds and his own headline show at London’s The Waiting Room all coming up in the few months, as well as his new track ‘Speculate’ gaining airplay on Radio 1 and XFM, the singer-songwriter’s passionate indie sound is definitely being heard.

‘Speculate’ pairs almost ethereal verses with mosh-pit heavy choruses, all set behind Dickson’s raucously emotional, grave vocals, creating a pounding track that both Florence + The Machine and Arctic Monkeys could be proud of. As the song goes on, echoes even of the likes of Travis and Stereophonics make themselves loudly known. This collision of opposites make for a wonderfully unsettling sound that crashes into you in the way only a good song can and, once heard, won’t be forgotten in a hurry.
