Hot on the heels of performances at Ireland’s Electric Picnic and Sea Sessions this summer, Dublin lads Ivy Nations have proved they mean business with the launch of their fourth single ‘Sentimental Hearts’ this month. Having only formed in 2015, rotation on Today FM and featuring on Spotify’s ‘Feelgood Indie’ playlist is testament to the trio’s massive potential, as well as the irresistibly catchy hook of their latest release.

Driven by an infectious bassline as in their previous single ‘Live By Design’, ‘Sentimental Hearts’ feels bright and summery despite its autumn release, and boasts a full, polished sound (honed by Kodaline producer Phil Magee). Its anthemic chorus of “Carving up our sentimental hearts” makes the track a real earworm, and an unashamedly feel-good pop one at that. According to lead vocalist Joe Kiernan, the song is about “a boy who lives in his head, but craves the truth”.
