Sahara are an unsigned band from Dundee. Despite having no label, they are making waves in the indie scene, with a slot at Y Not Festival in Derbyshire. They have a sound reminiscent of The View and The Libertines, a time when indie music was heavily in the mainstream.
Their new track, ‘Scratch’ is taken from their debut EP, released later this month. It’s got enough potential to see why they are creating such a buzz. It’s got an addictive bassline, and an extremely catchy chorus that draws the listener in. The reverb on the guitars and vocals brings a psychedelic twist, while the drumming is extremely tight. All this comes out in a blend of feel good happiness, which is perfect for the summer festival season.
‘Scratch’ is an example of great songwriting in the making. If you are a fan of Splashh, Tame Impala, or upbeat indie rock, then Sahara are another exciting band to add to your collection.
