Alternative band The Mexanines are a foursome from Bradford, UK. They have released a new single ‘Rocket’ which will appear on a 4-track EP to be released September 25th.
One thing instantly noticeable about the track is that it will be killer live. With easily memorable lyrics, “I’ve got myself a big, hot rocket. I can’t stop it flying” the song would go down a storm with a live crowd. Although the song is unique in its own sense,‘Rocket’ is not shy of anything that deserves radio play as it’s pleasant and calming with a more powerful lift off towards the end. The vocalist is clearly talented along with the rest of the band and it seems obvious that a lot of hard work has paid off. It will be interesting to see what the rest of their EP has to offer.
You can catch the band playing Leeds, Nation of Shopkeepers September 18th and be sure to get your hands on their EP at the end of the month.
