Packing a punch from the very first bar, four-piece Spares are set to be the next band to dominant the vibrant Liverpool music scene and progress onto a hot indie circuit. Being together for about a year in their latest line up, the band have already gathered a fair following on social media and look set to move onto their next big thing with their latest single ‘Not Enough’.

Featured on BBC Introducing on the 10th October, the song instantly makes the listener alert, with high-octane drumming that sets a beat that seems fuelled with action and passion. The vocals are strong and well delivered, with a very distinctive, slightly rough voice that provides the perfect accompaniment to the energetic music it sings atop. Speaking via Twitter, the band’s drummer Adam Boyd stated that the band “focus on the combination of raw sound with high energy, whilst maintaining tightness”, and this has been well incorporated into their latest release.
The song is one filled with energy and a sense of the rawness of what it means to be a newly-established band, contrasted directly with a clear sense of musicianship and expertise. Overall, the intense sound is one that will be well received by both fans of the indie scene, as well as those who need a nudge in the right direction, and Spares are a band that can bridge that gap.
