As ‘No Memory’ begins, the listener is set in the atmosphere of a gig with The Drink adjusting their guitars and playing their grasping, guitar based intro. Seconds later the angelic vocals of Dearbhla Minogue captivate the atmosphere, transporting the listener on a journey through the woods of the falling autumn leaves in the sunset. These images may vary from listener to listener but there is no doubt in stating that these dreamy vocals have the ability to take any listener on their very own fantasy journey.

Being the trio’s first single since their album Company there was anticipation as to whether its dark, folky atmosphere would still be apparent and it’s safe to say that they are indeed still there, more enchanting than ever before. One thing so unique and refreshing about The Drink is the combination of the guitar and drums and the soft female vocals and these have definitely not been lost in this track. In fact, it is rare to find another track of theirs where the two complement each other quite as much as they do here. Dearbhla Minogue’s voice has never sounded so beautiful and with the catchy, charming tune to the song it really is impossible to get enough of it. It would be foolish to expect anything less after the exciting sounds of Company in 2014 but this track is setting a very high standard for the release of their sophomore album Capital this November.
