Out today, ‘Never Get It Right’, the second single release from London-based pop newbie Inés Rae, is a Halsey-esque bedroom pop number with a sprinkling of summery electropop energy. Exploring the insecurities we face in relationships, its catchy chorus asks why things never quite go the way we want them to.

“It’s about being the one in a relationship that messes everything up and not knowing how to change to make things better,” she says of her song. “I feel like a lot of people have been in a situation where their own insecurities have caused problems in a relationship and that’s what this is about. It’s basically a sad bop, something I specialise in!”

With Matt Wills and Woody from Bastille adding a bit of polish from behind the mixing desk, ‘Never Get It Right’ is a chart-worthy track that you’ll be humming to yourself after a few listens. Be sure to check out Inés’ TikTok where she documents her journey as an upcoming artist, from signing her first record deal to the inspiration behind her songs.
