Edinburgh indie-pop quartet Indigo Velvet know how to get you in the summer mood. Their “tropical pop” sound is rife with upbeat, sun-kissed melodies and infectious rhythms, and with their new single ‘Mona’ the group have solidified their status as one of Scotland’s most promising new bands.
Speaking to The Skinny on the inspiration behind the track, the band are very enthusiastic towards fan interaction, with frontman Darren Barclay saying that he wants “people [to] listen to ‘Mona’ and make up their own stories, then tell us!”
Blending shimmering riffs, gorgeous harmonies and a suitably massive chorus, ‘Mona’ is the perfect contender for your late night, beer garden playlists.
