Track Review: Lousy Connection // Ezra Furman

Ezra Furman has been on the indie scene since 2006, debuting with the band The Harpoons, yet he still remains surprisingly under the radar. Hopefully, with a new album release on the horizon and an upcoming tour that includes Latitude Festival, this is about to change.

The first taste of his upcoming album Perpetual Motion People leaves a craving for more. Immediately distinctive with its doo-wop inspired vocals and irresistible symphony steeped in saxophone, the song’s powerful intro establishes that Forman’s musicianship has grown to maturity and is ready to be heard. Pleasantly addictive and instantly relatable, this  song is bound to catch on as the feel-good indie hit of the summer.

“Can you hear me now?” Furman asks his audience repeatedly. “I’ve got the world’s ear but I’m all fucking mumbles”. With this promising release, it is inescapable that Furman will soon be received loud and clear.
