Track Review: Life Itself // Glass Animals

Following the release of their largely successful debut album ‘ZABA’, Glass Animals have spent most of their time touring the world, throwing fish at band members, and collaborating with Joey Bada$$. Living the dream, right? Well, 2 years following their spectacular debut album and other shenanigans, Glass Animals are back, and bringing with them a fresh new sound.

Their latest track ‘Life Itself’ was released back in May, and is a totally different sound for the quirky Oxonians. The track has a great summer feel to it, with lead singer Dave’s gentle vocals reiterating ‘gotta get back / gotta get free’ in a mantra-like manner. Coupled with this are repetitive and tribal-like drums entangling the track, alongside a vibrant chorus of mystical instruments and dreamy vocals, suitable for any sunny day.

Glass Animals have just announced their new album How To Be A Human Being, due for release on August 26th. As well as this, they’ve got an extensive UK tour going on sale soon, including a landmark gig at London’s Roundhouse in October. You won’t want to miss it.
