Track Review: Let You Know // Stillia

‘Let You Know’ is the latest catchy number from St Helens buzz band, Stillia. The quartet – made up of Jack Bennett (lead vocals, guitar), Connor Moran (lead guitar, vocals), Johnny Waring (bass, vocals) and Matty Bennett (drums) – have been creating quite a name for themselves on the North-West scene over the last 18 months or so.

That said, their busy summer consisted of several notable festival appearances further afield including Brighton’s Great Escape and Sheffield’s Tramlines. ‘Let You Know’ is the follow-up single to 2014’s ‘Lights Shine’ and shows the progression of the fledgling indie-rockers into fully fledged rock ‘n’ roll stars.

Opening with crashing drums and vibrant guitar strokes reminiscent of the likes of Catfish & The Bottlemen, blended with the energetic presence of Circa Waves, you instantly get a sense of what they’re about. The four-piece then effortlessly transition in and out of more indie-pop like rhythms and harmonies, whilst maintaining the rockier edges and energy which they’ve become synonymous with since their formation. A lot can also be said for their ability to team consistent life on the road with perfecting their craft in the studio; frequently gigging in local venues whilst popping in and out of the studio has kept the band on their toes and it shows in both their increased live promise and glossy final studio cuts.

Slick vocal delivery and the confident essence and image of bands twice their age holds them in good stead already, and writing anthems such as ‘Let You Know’ on a consistent basis, will only further strengthen their already blossoming name as one of the hottest northern bands on the circuit.
