Los Bitchos are here with a ray of sunshine to brighten your winter days with their newest single ‘Las Panteras.’

Coming from around the globe, Los Bitchos’ sound is a world-fusion homage to their roots. Guitarist Serra was born in Western Australia, Agustina Ruiz comes from Uruguay, bassist Josefine hails from Sweden, and Nic from south London drummed in various punk bands before rounding off Los Bitchos.

The track is the first taste of their upcoming debut Let The Festivities Begin! and follows the band’s trademark style of musically tight and electrifying instrumental grooves. ‘Las Panteras’ is fundamentally a party song, ready to be played to festival crowds dancing under hazy sunlight. Behind the prowling disco-funk swagger lies Los Bitchos’ skill at blending sounds together. South American Cumbia meets Anatolian psychedelia through washes of synth and guitar lines.

“Coming from all these different places,” reveals multi-instrumentalist Serra, “it means we’re not stuck in one genre, and we can rip up the rulebook a bit when it comes to our influences.” As ‘Las Panteras’ trippy exploration highlights the band’s power in blending a smorgasbord of styles into their own. “I wanted to sound like Van Halen and Cocteau Twins – but from Turkey,” Serra adds, who takes a lot of inspiration from her mother’s ‘70s Anatolian rock records

The accompanying video, directed by Tom Mitchell, is inspired by the likes of Kill Bill, Scooby Doo and Spice Girls’ ‘Wannabe’ video. Seeing the band kitted out in warm ‘70s aesthetics, Los Bitchos are tying their hands as detectives interspersed with sassy dance moves before engaging in a climactic battle with a mysterious black cat.

Prepare for the party with Los Bitchos’ debut album Let The Festivities Begin! arriving on 4th February 2022 via City Slang Records.
