It is clear to see how Arcade Fire and Kasabian have inspired Nothing But Thieves in their latest track ‘Itch’, released on March 18th. However, the heavy, driving force of Nothing But Thieves electronic sound has enabled them to differentiate themselves with aggressive, soaring vocals and throbbing guitar riffs. Hailing from Southend, the band has cemented their spot in the realm of alternative rock, with tracks such as ‘Itch’ firmly waving the flag for their abundant talent.

‘Itch’ is a song of intransigent longing, emphasised by the refrain “Cause I, I just wanna feel something real”. The song builds and builds into the crescendo of elongated, aching desire, with the lead vocalist, Connor, reminiscent of Muse’s front man, Matthew Bellamy. Imagine Amber Run on steroids, throw in some Foals-esque theatrics, and the essence of rock carved from Catfish and the Bottlemen, and there you have it; Itch, the latest release from the rising stars of 2015.
