Adding to the teasing of their upcoming album Live Laugh Love, due to be released on 29 March 2024, Chastity Belt have released their new single ‘I-90 Bridge’. The track will feature in their first LP since 2019 when the Washington rock group released their self-titled album.

The group are no strangers when it comes to creating a slow and almost dream-like tone in their music and ‘I-90 Bridge’ is no exception. The track opens with the echoing sounds of guitar chords that are quickly sparked into life with a simple but effective drum beat to tie the track together. The vocals (Lydia Lund) ooze a melancholy tone throughout the track which is quite the contrast to the gleeful and wavy guitar tune, but this works so well. You cannot help but feel DMA’s vibes from this track, which takes absolutely no credit away from Chastity Belt for developing such an impactful sound.

“Riding bikes across the I-90 bridge // 9 at night i feel like flying”

‘I-90 Bridge’ leaves a nostalgic impression on the ear and feels as if it’s suitable for a summer’s day. The nostalgic feeling is only developed further by the music video being filmed by the band’s drummer (Gretchen Grimm) on an old camcorder, giving the ultimate Mid 90’s vibe.

Whether you listen to the track for the addictively beautiful guitar sounds or due to the track’s deeper lyrical meaning, ’I-90 Bridge’ is the perfect entry tune for anyone wishing to become acquainted with Chastity Belt.
