Emerging North London experimental outfit Gengahr has a desire for creating eccentric, soothing tunings of sound. Since debuting last summer with singles ‘Powder’ and ‘Bathed In Light’, the four-piece have earned a reputation as a band after support slots with Wolf Alice and Alt-J. The four-piece’s latest track, ‘Haunter’, is a new taste of the band’s more acoustic direction.

A folk/synthpop style brings with it soothing and eerie vocals: think Unknown Mortal Orchestra, just a little more stripped-back in parts. How does this all add up for a band with such eclectic tastes? Astute of verse and soaring of chorus, the vocals reminiscent of love conjure into your heart, leaving a warm, fuzzy glow behind.

We’re very interested to see where they go next – Gengahr are certainly ones to watch this year.
