Sheare writes romantic songs about dating in the 21st century and being ghosted. Earning comparisons to The 1975 and The Cure, he has earned support from the likes of Teen Vogue and The 405. He released a new track, ‘Girlfriend’ on September 13th.
‘Girlfriend’ is filled with beautiful electronic soundscapes which bring a warm summery atmosphere. The production is very clean; furthermore, the guitars are hypnotising and captivating.
However, lyrically, it is the polar opposite. The track is about a toxic relationship, and between Sheare and an ex-girlfriend, because there is bitterness in the lyrics: “Honestly you never acted like my girlfriend.” You can feel the emotion in his voice, and it is heartfelt.
It all winds itself into a stunning pop song which will win Sheare more fans in the future.
