This week, Sea Girls released a fifth single, ‘Come Back To Me’, from their third studio album, Midnight Butterflies, ahead of its full release in June.
‘Come Back To Me’ has the classic Sea Girls sound complete with their trademark vulnerable lyrics. The song showcases what the band do best: indie-pop with a familiar pulsating beat. The juxtaposition between the stripped-back verses and the intense, all-consuming guitar choruses emphasises the actual content within the lyrics.
The song shares a painful story of missing someone, told through lead singer Henry Camamile’s emotional vocals. In a video promoting the song’s release, the singer shares the process of writing this song and how it was inspired by his personal experiences.
The band have described their upcoming album as “melodic joy and pop perfection” and ‘Come Back To Me’ perfectly encapsulates these vibes, while still tackling the painful twentysomething feelings in true Sea Girls style.
Midnight Butterflies will be released under the band’s new independent record label, Alt Records, and seems to have brought the group increased confidence that exudes into their performance. ‘Come Back To Me’ was produced with The Nocturns. Together, they have created a classic indie track that sounds like the four are playing right beside you.
The band are set to begin a summer of festival appearances before starting their tour in September. ‘Come Back To Me’ is sure to be a fantastic addition to their setlist.
