Track Review: Cold Shapes // Best Friends

A personal favourite of mine as well as the Sheffield DIY scene, Best Friends are the perfect band for the summer months. ‘Cold Shapes’ is the ultimate summer tune, despite its wintery title. The light-hearted “oooooohhhhhs” are simply gorgeous, whilst Lewis Sharman’s dreamy delivery drips from the shuffling bassline that provides the backbone for the track.

Yet the best is still yet to come, as the crescendo that begins the last minute of the track is nothing short of brilliant and kicks ‘Cold Shapes’ onto another level. However, this is just the tip of the iceberg for Best Friends who recently released their debut album Hot. Reckless. Totally Insane, which means that your music collection is about to get a whole lot friendlier (I’m so sorry for that horrendous pun).
