Track Review: Can’t Be Unsaid // Buried in Verona

Buried in Verona have gained a cult following in the metalcore scene through the release of their brutal albums Saturday Night Sever and Notorious. Both these albums were infested with crushing breakdowns and post-hardcore choruses, with the latter at times reminiscent of Suicide Season-era Bring Me the Horizon. Their next album Faceless had a darker feel in places, containing elements of the classic deathcore sound. They released a new track, ‘Can’t Be Unsaid’ through both the Australian label UNFD and Rise Records in June.

The track sounds as if it is made for arenas, with a chorus built for a mass sing-along. It features a stronger emphasis on clean vocals, while further utilizing some programmed drums. Although the songwriting is more focused, it is slightly repetitive as it contains the same chord progression the whole way through. Regardless, this track will help bring in new fans and see them onto bigger things.
