Track Review: Bedhead Blues // Blue & Ivory

Blue & Ivory hail from Stanford-le Hope in Essex. Consisting of Will Marshall and Jonathan Daniels, their influences range from a variety of genres including rock, acoustic, and folk. They recently released ‘Bedhead Blues’, taken from their debut EP Two Songs.

The track contains some summery-layered acoustic guitars, which are relaxing. They go nicely with the upbeat drum machine patterns, although the drum machine could have been placed higher in the mix. The vocals are reminiscent of both The Wave Pictures and Steam Powered Giraffe. While they can be grating at times, both Marshall and Daniels manage to incorporate some beautiful dreamy harmonies, immersing the listener.

The aforementioned harmonies demonstrate Blue & Ivory’s potential. Although a new band, the chilled out vibe of this track should get them noticed in the future.
