15-Years-Vistas

‘15 Years’ is the most recent track from Vistas, a Scotland-based trio, who are due to release their debut album entitled Everything Changes in the End on 29 May. Frontman Prentice Robertson deems ‘15 Years’ a thank-you to fans. This idea is brought together in the accompanying music video, which shows fans miming along to the lyrics of the song while isolated in their homes.

The track bursts onto the scene with zesty, vibrant guitar riffs and a bold drum beat which immediately uplifts the listener, before distinctive vocals ripple through. The lyrics are bright and nostalgic, with upbeat chants of “won’t fade away” littered throughout. The whole make up of the song is constant and repetitive enough to be extremely catchy, while still boasting a fresh, progressive quality. Whilst offering us a dose of much needed liveliness, ‘15 Years’ also provides a gentle familiarity, and holds on to that feel-good spirit that Vistas have embedded in their previous releases.

An apparent sense of purpose and energy is felt throughout this track, and is matched with the same anthem-like vibe of the band’s earlier pieces such as ‘Retrospect’ and ‘Calm’.

Vistas have made their presence strongly felt with this spirited release, and have provided us with the beginnings of an ideal summer soundtrack with this slice of creative indie-rock brilliance.
