Fleabag (BBC iPlayer)
While the hit series has already wrapped up for good, at least we can reminisce about using public transport with that period scene on the London Underground – iconic. Created and written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Fleabag is a tragicomedy sure to become a modern-day classic. The award-winning show is based on her 2013 Edinburgh Fringe Festival one-woman play of the same name. Available on BBC iPlayer, you will soon whip through all twelve episodes.

Breaking the fourth wall with witty internal monologues, Fleabag manages to say what we are often thinking. It is funny, sexual and often very relatable. Without giving too much away, Fleabag’s on-screen chemistry with The Priest (Andrew Scott) is staggering. A true masterpiece and tough act for Waller-Bridge to follow.
Better Call Saul (Netflix)
With a new episode airing weekly on Netflix, if you start now, you will probably just about catch the end of Better Call Saul’s season five. A spin-off of Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould’s stellar Breaking Bad series, the show focuses on the story of Saul Goodman, Walter White’s greasy lawyer. Set six years before the events of Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul details Jimmy McGill’s transformation from small-time lawyer into full-time crook Saul.
Bob Odenkirk’s darkly comic performance, coupled with the creators’ attention to detail and artistic vision raises one question – could the spin-off outshine the original itself? Either way, it is one of the best prequel shows ever made. If the criminal underworld of Albuquerque, New Mexico, leaves you wanting more, fear not. Netflix also has all five seasons of Breaking Bad. Hopefully no one will come knocking at the door mid-episode…
