2. Suede – John Peel Stage, Saturday
Yeah, yeah. I’m sure Kanye West was brilliant. But while he was giving it the big ‘un about being the ‘greatest living rockstar’, Suede’s Brett Anderson was giving him a bloody good run for his money. Leaping about the stage like it’s 1995, Brett and his band of Britpop stalwarts waved a camp goodbye to Saturday with their trademark scathing guitar riffery, howling vocals and huge choruses. Classic B-side ‘Killing Of A Flashboy’ was a treat for fans, while the likes of ‘Trash’ and the infectious ‘Beautiful Ones’ were still being sung way after the band left the stage.
