3) The Magician’s Apprentice/The Witch’s Familiar
This is hands down one of my favourite Dalek stories ever, and one of the best episodes of the revival. Having gotten their act together, the writers finally started producing great stories again for Season 9, and this was probably the best way to open it. It has everything; the return of not only Missy, but of Davros, and of the classic Daleks from 1963. Fans everywhere lauded the dark tone of the story, as well as Michelle Gomez’s performance as Missy, and the interactions between The Doctor and Davros. It wasn’t afraid to have some light-moments either, and the only reason this isn’t higher on the list is because we see the introduction of the sonic sunglasses, as well as the Doctor playing electric guitar. And it was sooooo cringe to watch. Apart from that, it’s an almost flawless story.
