4) The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances

Yet another episode of Doctor Who that has quite possibly scarred me for life, The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances is best remembered for its eerie line of “Are you my mummy?” and if that doesn’t have you trembling in fear, you are probably dead inside. While the first part is refreshingly dark in its story-telling, The Doctor Dances ends on one of the best moments for The Doctor in the entirety of the show; he saves the boy, and everyone infected with the Chula Virus, and tears of joy stream down your face when he says “just this once, everybody lives!” It’s Christopher Eccleston at his finest.
