3. Fat Bottomed Girls
‘Fat Bottomed Girls’ was released in 1978 and featured on Queen’s album Jazz and later on their Greatest Hits compilation album. The track bursts into Queen’s trademark harmonising of the chorus before the catchy thud of the drums and bluesy guitar riffs kick in.
The upbeat, lively vibe to the song coupled with Freddie Mercury’s first-class vocals and signature shouts of ‘hey’ make it easy to see why he is still regarded as one of the best rock singers and frontmen in the world.
Despite there being some controversy around the lyrics, ‘Fat Bottomed Girls’ is a completely feel-good and fun track that seems to be impossible to listen to without smiling.
