4. I Want To Break Free

The music video for ‘I Want to Break Free’ is almost as fabulous as the track itself due to first part of it consisting of all the band members famously dressing up in women’s clothes. This parody was very much acclaimed in the UK, however, in the United States it was found ‘controversial’ and was banned by MTV amoungst other stations. ‘I Want to Break Free’ was released in 1984 from Queen’s eleventh studio album The Works, and is extremely likeable due to its liberating lyrics; “I want to break free from your lies / you’re so self-satisfied / I don’t need you”. The song’s upbeat, positive vibe coupled with another of Brian May’s brilliantly distinctive guitar solos slap-bang in the middle makes for another Queen masterpiece.
