Throwback Thursday: Red Morning Light // Kings Of Leon

Now, I’m not the biggest Kings Of Leon fan – not by a long shot. However, I distinctly remember their album Youth and Young Manhood being one of the first ‘guitar heavy’ albums I bought and immediately loved. ‘Red Morning Light’ quickly became my favourite song by the now notorious band and has endured the ten years since release remaining to be one of the only songs I will frequently listen to. It’s definitely a song you can listen to over and over, without getting sick of the sound of it.

As one of the best openings to an album, ‘Red Morning Light’ really paved the way for the bands success, giving fans a taster for the sort of ‘southern bluesy rock’ tunes they could expect from them.  Caleb’s incredibly sexy voice, the simple yet groovy riffs and that cow bell, makes this the ultimate early noughties indie rock anthem.
