Heartstopper season three is due to hit our screens in October 2024. Ahead of this, the show has just announced three additions to the cast: Eddie Marsan, Hayley Atwell and Jonathan Bailey.

The hit Netflix show is a coming-of-age, romantic, comedy-drama based on graphic novels by Alice Oseman. The series follows the lives of a group of students as they navigate their teenage years, dealing with many themes relevant to this period of life: school, friendships, sexuality, family and even mental health. Though, central to the show is the budding relationship between Charlie Spring (Joe Locke) and Nick Nelson (Kit Connor).

After two successful series, fans are eager for news on the upcoming third series. And after news of Olivia Colman not returning to her role as Nick Nelson’s mother, it has now been revealed that the line-up is getting bigger with three A-listers joining the cast.

Marsan will be taking on the role of Geoff, Charlie’s therapist. You might have previously seen him in the films V for Vendetta, Mission: Impossible III or, more recently, as Mitch Winehouse in Back to Black.

Atwell is taking on the role of Nick’s Aunt Diane who, in the series, will take him on a holiday to Menorca and give some advice to Nick on his relationship with Charlie. The MCU star gained prominence for her role as Agent Peggy Carter.

Bailey is going to be making a cameo appearance as Jack Maddox, Charlie’s Instagram-famous crush. The internationally renowned actor currently stars in Bridgerton as Anthony, Viscount Bridgerton. Previously his television credits have included Crashing, Broadchurch and Fellow Travelers.

The already talented Heartstopper cast will definitely be complimented by these famed additions. Season three is due to have eight episodes and will continue to show Nick and Charlie navigating their feelings for each other.
