Yesterday, West End Live announced a two-day schedule for their 2020 celebration of British musical theatre, which is taking place online (rather than London’s Trafalgar Square), due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

West End Live stated: “We could not let the stagiest weekend of the year go by without sharing our love of theatre with you and are therefore very excited to be able to share a unique highlights package that we hope will bring back some fantastic memories and inspire you to see a show when our theatres are allowed to reopen”.

This weekend’s performances will be made up of previous years’ highlights, to be streamed on West End Live’s official Facebook page and website from 2pm today.

Currently, we have performances from musicals such as & Juliet, Come From Away, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Six, Waitress and Heathers to look forward to. You can also expect theatre quizzes, exclusive playlists and sing-a-longs throught this weekend, many of which have already started!

“Whilst we know this won’t be the same as standing in Trafalgar Square watching your stage favourites in the flesh, we hope that you, your friends and families will don your dancing shoes and dress up in your stagiest outfits to relive and celebrate the magic of West End Live”.
