Adam Blanshay, of Adam Blanshay Productions, and Ryan Woods, of The Theatre Café, are working together to create a new musical theatre web series called The Theatre Channel. The pilot episode is scheduled to premiere this September, with a season of nine further episodes set to follow.

Episode one already has some very exciting musical theatre stars set to perform, including Carrie Hope Fletcher (from Les Miserables and Heathers), Oliver Ormson (The Book of Mormon and Frozen) and Lucie Jones (Les Miserables and Waitress).

Each episode, according to an article released by The Theatre Weekly Press, will showcase a different line up of West End performers, run at approximately thirty minutes, feature four musical theatre numbers, and be filmed on location at The Theatre Café.

Ryan Woods has commented on this choice of performance space by stating: “Myself and Adam had an idea to use the café as a kind of working set to bring theatre-goers to a live style production to then watch online… We believe, with this fabulous team now assembled, we can produce something really special!”

The first episode is confirmed to be directed and choreographed by Bill Dreamer (Follies and Evita), with Michael England as Musical Director (The Phantom of the Opera and The Scottish National Orchestra).

This pay-to-stream web series will be available to via a new platform hosted on The Theatre Café’s website. Once published and paid for, every episode of The Theatre Channel will be available to watch at the viewer’s leisure for an unlimited number of streams.
